The SYCO plays concert starts at 2000hours. I arrived much earlier than expected... around 7:15pm like that, Samuel was waiting outside like hes waiting for his girlfriend... wonder who was he waiting for, anyways he said later that he was tricked into coming because only the Sec 2 and 3s were compulsory to come for the performance...Then saw some 2D guys and sheng juniors... they chatted alot, then Yong Lin came in with another senior... and suggested that we go in, walk so slow...
Near the entrance to the real place where everything's gonna happen, screams and laughter and giggling and all the clapping, theres the programme booklet going for S$1, revenue-making act, and everything joined together like jigsaw puzzle. Our school has some students doing recital for the last song, a newly written poem by "chen rui xian".
Basically, this is the shortest concert I have ever seen. It starts at 8 and ended at about 9.30. And there are only 4 songs, generally. Dong nan xi bei zhong was quite a long song, I dunno you consider it 1 song or 5 songs. Conducted by guo ling qiang. Feel that his actions are all very extreme and big. Even when the orchestra is quite soft. Their songs have a couple of sheng's melody and the shengs are real loud.
Next was "sha di e chuan qi". Quite a nice song with the xinjiang taste. Then was it this song when the gaosuo went out of pitch and there was a small group of people who giggled. Think Chris or the other guy can join the SYCO too haha. But, think this song is quite "bao li" especially near the end. Well, it fits guo ling qiang's taste i think.
Then was a short interval. Didnt do much during the interval, just slacking around. Then it started again. This time was a small portion of SCO, i think playing. Then the zhongruan soloist came out. Screams from the back. The soloist is pro-ed. They used quite a lot of sheng to sustain the chords of the ruan. Conductor is Ye Cong. It was quite a long song.
Finally was the newly composed song by luo wei lun again. First the xing kong and now tian wang. Both songs were written based on poems. Well, at least this time the poem is not by some known people, but quite a respectable writer, chen rui xian. This is something new, with the orchestra playing with narrators narating the poem. The narrators are from our school and nygh. Felt that the poem is quite lame, well this is modern poem so i leave it to the rest to comment.
After this it ended, without encore or anything. Then as Shiang, his mom and me were walking out from the conference hall towards the MRT station, we saw our cello teacher... lol how the heck he change clothes so fast, Shiang said wah see ghost lol. Guess he also heard that too, uh he does have to disguise really well to avoid any unneeded trouble anyways.
Thats all I guess, very nervous for the next holy day. Only you noe wad i meant.
